This refers to authority given under the Mental Capacity Act 2005, such as a valid and applicable advance decision to refuse treatment, Lasting Powers of Attorney for health and welfare containing relevant clauses, Court-Appointed Deputyship including relevant decision-making powers, a decision of a Court, the Mental Health Act 1983, or a best interest assessment in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
